There's Someone Looking Forward
To School Starting
by: Bobby McDonald
With a break from the triple-digit temperatures that had plagued Hopkins County for the past week, Saturday found many residents getting out of the house and attending events scheduled about the community. One group of enthusiastic citizens were on-hand to attend the Grand Opening of Teacher's Pet, at 206 Main Street. The new business is devoted to supplying teachers with the necessary things for their classrooms and is owned by two classroom teachers, Tye Boatman and Darla Reed. The two young teachers state that they have almost anything to supply the classroom and are actually among those that are looking forward to school starting.

"It isn't but about three week before some of the local schools will be starting," acknowledged Tye Boatman, a teacher in the Saltillo ISD. "As little as you think about it, it's time to start planning decorations for our rooms and the opening day of school!"

Tye Boatman, left, and Darla Reed are the new owners of Teacher's Pet, located at 206 Main Street,
and being teachers themselves, know the needs for the local classroom.
"And, we have just the things to make that happen," inserted Boatman's partner, Darla Reed, who will be a teacher in Como-Pickton ISD. "We plan on being open after school each day and on Saturday's to accommodate the teacher's schedules!"

"We'll be open each day until school starts and can help teachers with their decorating and classroom supply need," expressed Boatman. "We want to have the outlet for local teachers to come and supply their classrooms, in anticipation of the first day of school and to come back throughout the year for needed supplies!"
Drop by the location of Teacher's Pet, at 206 Main Street, and you're sure to "get in the mood" for the beginning of school and anticipate the opening of the classroom doors!

School was the fartherest thing from these young student's minds, as they conducted a car wash for
their baseball team, on the Brookshire's parking lot, Saturday. But, it won't be but about three weeks
until they will be "hitting the books."
