An announcement from Sulphur Bluff High School reveals that Tyler F. Henderson and Tara C. Williams are the top graduates in the 2006 Graduating Class. They will lead the class in graduation exercises, June 2, 2006, conducted in the Sulphur Bluff High School Gymnasium.
Tyler Fielden Henderson was designated Valedictorian with a grade-point average of 5.075, to earn the top honors in the class. The son of Scott and Jana Henderson, of Dike, Tyler has been a regional UIL contender in numerous competitions, including Number Sense, Literary Criticism, Editorial Writing, Computer Science, Science, and Mathematics. He has been a member of the Beta Club and has already earned 31 hours toward his college education, by taking concurrent classes.

Salutatorian, Tara Crystal Williams, the daughter of Andrea Williams of Dike and Gene Williams of Winnsboro, ranked second in the class with a four-year average of 4.85. She has been a member of the Sulphur Bluff FFA, FCCLA, and served as secretary of the Beta Club, for the past three years. She has been a regional UIL contender in Calculator Applications and Editorial Writing. She has been a participant in the One-Act Play cast, secretary of the Student Leadership Team, and served as a class officer for the past 4 years. She is a member of the varsity volleyball and basketball teams and has received all-district honors in both sports for four years. She was voted "Best Dressed," "Most Likely To Succeed," "Best All-Around," and "Most Athletic" by her classmates. Earlier this year, Tara was named Homecoming Queen for Sulphur Bluff High School.

Honor Grads of 8th Grade
Valedictorian of the Sulphur Bluff 8th Grade Class for 2006 is Ginger Marie Thompson, the daughter of Sherrie and Michael Thompson, of Sulphur Springs. Ginger graduates with a grade-point average of 4.6308. Ginger is a member of the softball, basketball, and volleyball teams, and served as treasurer of her class, this year. She is a UIL contender in Editorial Writing, Oral Reading, Calculator, Number Sense, Impromptu Speaking, Science and Modern Oratory. She placed 1st at the Regional Science Fair, this year. Ginger is a junior member of Sulphur Bluff FFA and has been a strong contender in the show ring.
Salutatorian of the 8th Grade Class is Ashley Paige Bryant, daughter of Kim and Ray Bryant, of Dike. She has been a member of the softball, volleyball, and basketball teams, and served as president of the 8th grade class, this year. She has competed in UIL in Editorial Writing, Calculator, and Maps, Graphs, and Charts. She is also a junior member of the Sulphur Bluff FFA and enjoys showing market goats. She has been a Homecoming Princess for the past two years.
The Sulphur Bluff 8th Grade will have joint graduation exercises with the 2006 Sulphur Bluff High School Commencements.
