Hosts Fish Fry and Auction
Fundraiser Saturday

by: Bobby McDonald

Friends, parents, and supporters assembled at noon on Saturday, in support of the Sulphur Bluff FFA program. Parents and community leaders had prepared a wonderful meal of catfish and all the trimmings that was enjoyed by everyone, at the noon meal. Then, supporters began bidding on a number of donated and shop-made items that had been prepared by members of the Future Farmer of America Chapter.

Fish, all the trimmings, and homemade desserts was the meal prepared for the Sulphur Bluff
FFA Auction, on Saturday.

From metal gates and benches, to picnic tables, and wooden feed troughs, the items were purchased by local businessmen and community supporters as they contributed the the local FFA program.

"I'm excited about the large crowd and all of the support for our program," expressed Vocational Agriculture Teacher at Sulphur Bluff, Brian Wright. "This event helps monetarily support our chapter and provides moral support for all of the dedicated students, who work hard all year to construct and learn with these projects."

Sulphur Bluff FFA officers welcomed the crowd to the Fish Fry and Auction, on Saturday.

"The Sulphur Bluff FFA Chapter is an outstanding group of students, like so many other students all across Hopkins County," expressed Brad Johnson, manager of the Northeast Texas Farmers Coop, and a patron at the auction. "These students are a vital part of our local agricultural economy."

patrons at Saturday's auction, while watching the proceeds.

"Students learn so much about construction, discipline, and leadership, in the FFA program," inserted one of the Sulphur Bluff parents. "They learn responsibility, develop self-esteem and useful skills that they will use for the rest of their lives."
