

Rural House Fire
Claims Three Hopkins County Residents

An early morning fire, on Wednesday morning, in a remote area of Hopkins County, south of Como and east of the Warren Petroleum Plant, claimed the lives of three unidentified females, one of which was thought to be a child. The alarm was sounded with the Hopkins County Sheriff's Office at 7:43 a.m., when neighbors heard an explosion and noticed the brick veneer home engulfed in flames.
Upon arrival, Hopkins County Firemen and Members of the Sheriff's Department found the rural home, located on CR-2431, totally involved, and could only attempt to contain the fire to the structure. Further investigation determined that three occupants of the home were claimed by the fire.

Investigators try to determine the cause of a rural home fire that claimed the lives of three Hopkins
County residents, on Wednesday morning.
"We have three unidentified female victims, who were in the home at the time of the fire," stated a member of the Hopkins County Sheriff's Office, who was investigating the fire.
Additional investigators were called to the scene and included an Arson Team from Grapevine, Texas Ranger Phillip Kemp, and the investigative units of the Hopkins County Fire Department and Hopkins County Sheriff's Office.
The property was listed as owned by Tommy Neal and was a total loss.
