Congratulations are in order for the cast and crew of Yantis' One-Act Play and the two tennis doubles teams, who will be advancing to regional competition.
Yantis High School's One-Act Play, "Blithe Spirit," won the area competition to advance to the regional competition at Stephen F. Austin University, on Saturday, April 22nd. The play, by British playright, Noel Coward, is a comedy of manners, showing chaos as a result of the ghost of Charles Condomine's first wife, Elvira, returning to torment Condomine and his beautiful new wife, Ruth.
Individual One-Act Play winners included Anthony Kelly and Christina Bean being named to the All-Star Cast. Lorena Camacho was designated as a member of the All-Star Crew, and both Amanda McKinney and Esther Fernandez received designation to the Honorable Mention All-Star Cast, for their performances.
Starla Birchfield and Stacey Ponder, both seniors at Yantis High School, received a second place in the area competition, on Tuesday, and will be advancing to regional, while the team of Jamie Gilliland and Christina Tauzin, received a first place rating and will also be advancing to the Regional Tennis Match.
Congratulations!
And, Best of Luck At Regional Competition!
