"Panther Pride" was everywhere at the North Hopkins Scholarship Commitee's 2006 Fundraising Dinner and Auction. Former students, friends, school faculty and administration, community supporters, and local businessmen "dug deep" in their pockets and raise approximately $20,000.00 for those seniors who will be graduating this year. The annual fundraiser is conducted to award scholarships to deserving seniors, who wish to pursue a degree beyond high school.

Tommy Long, right, Superintendent of Schools at North Hopkins, aids auctioneer Wade Bartley
in accepting bids at Saturday night's fundraising effort.
Last year, the North Hopkins Scholarship Committee was able to award ten scholarships to members of the 2005 class, following the fundraising efforts. "We hope to be able to award even more this year," expressed a member of the committee. "The more money we raise tonight, the more we will be able to help the students in this year's class.

This beautiful flower arrangement, in red and white, naturally, greeted
patrons coming to the North Hopkins Scholarship Foundation Dinner and Auction.
Local auctioneer, Wade Bartley, volunteered his time to sell a variety of lots that included handmade quilts, television sets, savings bonds, and other donated items. A drawing was conducted for a big screen television and the dinner was prepared from items donated to the committee.

Friends, former students, and local businessmen attended the fundraiser to support the youth of
North Hopkins School.

North Hopkins High School faculty member and alumni, Danna Evans Lewis, discusses a purchase
with her husband, Brian Lewis.

Local businessmen donated items for a silent auction, that was conducted throughout the night, with many items being purchased for the worthy cause.

Charlene Stewart and Joyce Goldsmith, North Hopkins Alumni and members of the NH Scholarship
Committee, discuss some of the details on Saturday night.

And, former student and patron, Jimmy Don Goldsmith, signs his
name on a silent auction item, at Saturday's fundraiser.
As the group was "tallying" the proceeds from Saturday night's efforts, the initial totals indicated a very successful auction and smiles were among the group of volunteers who serve on the committee.

Patrons at Saturday night's dinner and auction had a wonderful time and helped deserving seniors
at North Hopkins High School continue their higher educations.
