A Sulphur Bluff High School senior and a Miller Grove 7th Grader walked away with top honors in the 2006 NETLA Lamb Show, Thursday night, in the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center. With what judge Gayle Christian of Stephenville described as some outstanding quality, throughout the show, Jennifer McDonald's medium weight lamb was chosen Grand Champion of the show. The second place animal in the same class, shown by Miller Grove 7th Grader, Cayle Watson, took the Reserve Champion honors for this year's show.

In the hunt for champion........Jennifer McDonald and Cayle Watson keep their eyes on the judge as
they await the naming of the champion, at Thursday night's lamb show competition.

A smiling Jennifer McDonald gets a handshake from Gayle Christian, as he names
her lamb Grand Champion of the show.
"These lambs are of the quality that they could win a major show," expressed Christian, a well known sheep breeder from Central Texas, as he described his champion line-up. "I want to commend these students, their parents, and their teachers on a really nice set of lambs in this show!"

Clancy Horton and Ethan Phillips watch closely for instructions from the judge, as they show their
light-weight lambs, in Thursday night's lamb show.

Earlier, Clancy Horton, son of Heath and Ruanne Horton, a Hopkins County 4-H member, won the Junior Lamb Showmanship Award, as he made his showing debute, at this year's show. And, Watson, son of Mr. & Mrs. Shane Watson of Miller Grove, had shown his lamb to the Senior Showmanship honors, as a member of the Miller Grove FFA.

Nine year old Clancy Horton was named the Junior Showmanship winner in the
2006 NETLA Lamb Show, Thursday night.
"It's been quite a night," expressed a shy Watson, after taking both Senior Showmanship and Reserve Champion honors with his lamb. "I've really had a great time showing tonight!"

Miller Grove FFA member, Cayle Watson, smiles proudly, as he is named the Senior Showmanship
winner in the Lamb Show, by Judge Gayle Christian.

Interested audience members......... Rorie Hall Stroud, brought her son, Tye, to the lamb show on Thursday night
and they had plenty to smile about, as Rorie's nephew, Clancy Horton, took Junior Showmanship honors. Rorie is
a former Sulphur Springs FFA member and competed in dairy shows throughout the state of Texas, during her high
