Homer Announces Public Hearing
For Trans-Texas Corridor-35

from Lindsay Taylor, Homer Communications Director

PARIS - Rep. Mark Homer (D- Paris) received notice this week that there will be a public hearing for the proposed Trans-Texas Corridor 35 in Paris, Texas on Wednesday, July 12. The hearing will provide the opportunity for citizens in House District 3 to get information on the proposal as well as have their own specific questions answered.

"This is an issue of serious concern for many Northeast Texans," said Rep. Homer. "I hope the citizens of House District 3 will use this public hearing as a time to provide their comments as well as hear the testimony from those who have been working on this proposed project for some time."

The Texas Department of Transportation will be holding 54 public hearings throughout the study area with Paris being the only stop in House District 3. The event will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at the Love Civic Center in Paris, TX. The question and answer portion of the hearing will begin at 5:00pm, and a presentation by TxDot senior staff members will begin at 6:30pm.

"I encourage those with questions to show up at 5:00, since once the testimony begins there will not be a chance to ask questions," said Rep. Homer.
