Fall Festival Board Meets
Planning Upcoming Fair

Fall Festival Board members were actively involved in a regular meeting, on Monday night, as they make plans for the upcoming 2006 Hopkins County Fall Festival, that is only 60 days away. The event is planned for September 9-16th and will feature many of the same events, as well as some added attractions for this year's annual event. The Hopkins County Fall Festival began in 1969 and seems to attract larger crowds each year.

Reports were received from a number of committees and sponsor packets were passed out at the meeting, to begin the annual drive for community participation. And, items for the schedule of events and the festival brochure were discussed and finalized for printing and distribution.

In other action, the board voted to accept the bid of Mahoney Road, as the entertainment for the Annual Street Dance, and reported that three entertainers will be appearing on the bill for the Star Night in the Hopkins County Civic Center. Appearing will be Jarrod Birmingham, Kevin Fowler, and Stoney LaRue.

Fall Festival Board members enjoyed a BBQ meal while they discussed the many upcoming events.

Seven girls have already shown interest in the annual Cover Girl Contest and the announcement of their names will be released in the next few weeks.

This year's theme will be "Your County Fair!" and will feature parades, car shows, tractor pulls, the World Champion Hopkins County Stew Contest, Cover Girl Competition, the Annual Duck Race, livestock shows, household arts, and the Lone Star Quilt Show, just to name a few of the many activities, during the week.
