Dixie Angels Fall in Close Game
To Be Eliminated From Tournament

Wednesday Night

by: Bobby McDonald

Spectators and supporters assembled at Coleman Park, on Wednesday night, as the Hopkins County Dixie Angels faced Tennessee in a "must win" game, to stay alive in the Sulphur Springs hosted Dixie Angels National Tournament.  The game exhibited some outstanding action by the local Dixie Angels, who were led on the mound by pitcher Jaci Davis. Several base hits later, the local team remained scoreless, and couldn't complete any earned runs. Tennessee, however, managed to complete two runs and "clinch" the win.

The Angels had lost to South Carolina, on Tuesday night, so the Wednesday night loss eliminated them from tournament action. Thursday night's tournament championship will feature South Carolina and Tennessee vying for the pennant.
