Cumby Cheerleaders Conduct
Spaghetti Dinner & Fundraising Auction
by: Bobby McDonald
With football season just weeks away and practice beginning next week, the Cumby High School Cheerleaders took the opportunity to get everyone ready for the season and conducted a spaghetti dinner and fundraising auction, on Thursday night, in the school cafeteria. A large crowd of supporters came for the event and helped the cheerleaders raise money for need uniforms and travel expenses to the national contest.

These Cumby cheerleader's supporters were attempting to pay for the items they had purchased in
Thursday night's auction.
"We've been invited to participate in a national level football game, in Florida, and we're trying to raise funds for travel expenses," expressed Ashley Heer, one of the Cumby cheerleaders. "It takes a sizeable sum of money to take a squad that far from home."

Following a nice dinner of spaghetti and all the trimmings, these Cumby residents were ready to
bid on a number of items offered in the local fundraising auction.
Local businesses and individuals had donated items for the auction and the community had come to purchase and support the fundraising effort. From school supplies and backpacks, to sports equipment, and DVD players, the items were well received by the buyers in attendance. "We want to thank all of those who donated items," continued Heer. "Without their support, we couldn't have conducted the auction. We also want to thank our parents and sponsors, who helped to prepare the spaghetti dinner, with all the trimmings!"
Local band "Exit 101" provided live music for the event and was well received by the crowd.

And, these Cumby cheerleaders were "all smiles" following a successful auction event.
Best of luck to the Cumby cheerleaders and their efforts to make it to Florida!!!!

Then, of course, you can generally find the high school boys, wherever the high school girls are located!
