An announcement from Como-Pickton ISD reveals Amanda Flores, the daughter of Coy and Shannon Kuhl, as the Valedictorian of the 2006 Graduating Class. Amanda is the granddaughter of Ralph and Marie DAvis of Waco, Frank and Jessie Kuhl of Sulphur Springs, and Anna Grubbs of Como. Amanda's great-grandmother is Mrs. Faye Whitiker of Como.
Amanda accumulated a 5.9116 grade-point average, during her four years of high school and plans to attend the University of Texas at Tyler, in the fall 2006 term. Her plans include a career in nursing, where she hopes to pursue a masters degree in specialized neo-natal intensive care. A natural love for children, will allow Amanda to give back to her community. During her high school career, Amanda has been involved in several community organizations, as a volunteer, including serving as an aid at a local daycare center. She aided in the Lion's Club and Terror Trails fundraising drive, and is a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church.
Amanda is listed in the Who's Who of High School Students and has received many class awards at Como-Pickton High School. She received the Patriot Scholarship Award from UT Tyler and the Custom Shutters Scholarship, this year.

Class salutatorian, Vanessa Moreau-Sipiere, is the daughter of Eric and Randi Moreau-Sipiere, and is also a multi-talented individual at Como-Pickton High School. She was a member of the Lady Eagle Volleyball Team and was named to the "Fighting Heart Award" for her athletic endeavors. She is a member of National Honor Society, Como-Pickton FFA, STudent Council, and has served on the Yearbook Staff, as a photo editor. She served her senior class as President and was voted "Most Likely To Succeed" by her fellow classmates.
Vanessa has plans to travel to Europe in the fall and study abroad, for one semester, and return to attend the University of Texas in Austin, where she will pursue a degree in International Business.
Amanda and Vanessa will be leading the 2006 graduating class at Como-Pickton High School, as they receive their diplomas in graduation exercises at the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center, Saturday night, May 27th, at 7:30 p.m.
