These Como-Pickton 8th graders were ready to go to their graduation at the Hopkins County
Regional Civic Center Auditorium.

 

Como-Pickton Hosts
8th Grade Graduation

All dressed-up and a graduation to behold. That was the feelings of students at Como-Pickton School in the 8th grade, as their graduation exercises were conducted in the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center Auditorium, on Thursday night, May 25th. Following the graduation, the school hosted a dinner and dance for the graduates, who were dressed in formal attire.

And, these Moms were eager to watch every move of their 8th
grade graduates, who are "growing up!"

Serving as a "rite of passage" some of the 8th grade graduates arrived in a limousine, compliments of their parents and adoring fans. "This is the greatest," expressed one of the Como-Pickton 8th graders. "We're really riding in style!"

 

 

Upon arrival at the Civic Center, Denise Grammer began the "Processional" and graduates filed into their places on stage. The Pledge of Allegiance was lead by Class President Jeff Hendricks and Class Salutatorian Yadira Preciado welcomed the guests to the occasion.

 

 

The top ten students and the top ten cumulative students were recognized and the valedictorian and salutatorian of the class were presented. Leticia Galvan, valedictorian of the 8th grade class, gave her address and each member of the class was awarded their coveted diploma.

In one of the "shortest" exercises of the night, Paige Cooksey, secretary of the class, gave the benediction, following Principal Lydia Walden presenting the class.

 

 

Students filed out the isles of the auditorium and entered the banquet hall, where parents and friends had decorated the room into a tropical pardise, where an banquet and dance completed the night.
