Choral Society Offers
Spring Show
"Just For The Fun Of It"
by: Bobby McDonald
It's springtime and one stands in awe of just how Northeast Texas Choral Society Director, Carol Allen, does it, but again she's lined-up a another fantastic show and gone out in the community and "rounded-up" some new talent to feature, along with her many veteran performers. Somehow Allen has a "nact" for discovering some new talent each concert and spotlighting that talent during the Choral Society performance. This year, you're in for another treat as the perfomance unfolds in the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center in two performances, Saturday, May 6th, at 7:00 p.m., and a Sunday matinee performance, at 2:00 p.m.

The Spring Show will feature 17 songs with an upbeat theme of "Just For The Fun Of It." "And, it is fun!" exclaims Allen. "We've selected a group of songs that are fun for the audience and lots of fun to perform. You're sure to leave the concert in a very good mood!"

Imagine the deep bass voices of the men singing "Big John" and "Workin' On The Railroad," and you'll have a "taste" of just what is in store for the performance. Then, let your imagination "float" to a group rendition of "Mamma Mia" and across the scale to "All That Jazz." There is something wonderful for everyone!
As for that "highlighting of an undiscovered talent," you're certain to be moved by the awesome "Georgia" presentation by one of the newest members of the Choral Society, Marlon Chisom. His voice literally brings the song alive and leaves the listener in a trance.

"Down Deep"......................Marlon Chisom "gets it right" at practice, Monday night!
Allen states that this concert will last approximately two hours and that tickets at the door are $12.00 for adults and $7.00 for children.
Plan on making your way to the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center for another springtime treat of local musical talent.
