by: Bobby McDonald
Thursday night, July 27th, marked the beginning of a six night run of children's productions at the Main Street Theater, as a group of talented young people have completed an intense summer course in theater arts. The series features two plays that the participating children have rehearsed and used as guide for their summer learning program. Directors of the two plays include Andrea France and Ryan Thompson, young actors, in their own right.

Andrea France, left, and Ryan Thompson, far right, serve as the directors for the two children's
theater productions, being offered at the Main Street Theater.
Productions will be shown beginning at 8:00 p.m. nightly, July 27, 28, & 29th, and again on August 3, 4, & 5th. Tickets and reservations are available by contacting the Main Street Theater box office at (903)885-0107.

The first production, directed by France is entitled "The People vs. B.B.Wolf" and is a "spin-off" of the famous storybook fairy tale of "The Three Little Pigs." "And, it has some quite different twists to the plot," acknowledges France. "We've had fun doing the play and I'm sure the audience will be equally delighted with this 'twist' on the popular fairy tale!"

Cast members of "The People vs. B.B. Wolf," take on some rather "strange" looks, after they have
gone to the make-up artist.

Lance Brandenburgh serves as the director's assistant and several of the cast does "double duty" ast stage managers, and set construction technicians.

Ryan Thomson is equally excited about the second production "After Ever Happily," by Kandie Kelley. "It is a 'take' on the Cindrella fairy tale and it has been great to see the development of the children in this year's summer program," expressed Thompson. "They've really worked hard and the production is sure to delight the audience."
