"Catch That Eagle Spirit!!!"

At Como-Pickton School, on Tuesday night, all eyes were "on the Eagles," as supporters came out to watch the Eagle Football Team in practice and attended a practice volleyball match-up, featuring the Lady Eagles and the Yantis Lady Owls. School in Como-Pickton won't open until September 5th, but all athletic events are on "go," as anticipation for the season is high.

The Yantis Lady Owls were the featured opponent at Tuesday night's practice match for the Lady Eagles.

 

 

Meanwhile, a group of interested parents and supporters were meeting in the school cafeteria, as the Eagle Booster Club, and forming plans for the upcoming year.  Chuck Lay, local veterinarian, serves as the President of the Eagle Booster Club and is assisted by James Hodges, as vice-president, Jamie Humphrey, as secretary, and Susan Jones, as treasurer. And, a number of interested parents are serving as committee chairmen.

Membership levels were discussed and a family membership deal was formulated, where a family could join for $25.00 and receive one t-shirt, a sticker, and the organization newsletter. Additionally, a basic membership can be purchased for $5.00. Business membership levels include a Gold Sponsor of $250.00 and a Silver Sponsor of $100.00.



Booster Club members discussed the upcoming concession stands at athletic events and formulated chairmen to be responsible for the regular events.

The next major event of the Eagles Booster Club will be the "Meet The Eagles Night" featured on August 28th at 7:00 p.m. The event will feature an introduction of all of the Eagle and Lady Eagle players and a hot dog cookout, on the school grounds. Make plans to attend and support the Como-Pickton Eagles and Lady Eagles in a successful 2006-07 season!!!!
