by: Bobby McDonald
It's carnival time in Hopkins County, as the Triple T Amusements moved into Sulphur Springs and began making preparations for the opening of the Dairy Festival Carnival, that opens Wednesday night at 6:00 p.m. Triple T Amusements of Waxahachie, Texas, owns the variety of rides and attractions that provides the family fun during Hopkins County's salute to the dairy idustry. From "Lupe-O-Planes," to the "Octypus," a giant Fun Slide, and the traditional "Hobby Horses" the rides will appeal to children of all ages, as they enjoy the carnival experience.

Triple T Amusements travels throughout the state of Texas, as they move from city to city and provide entertainment, mainly in small towns, such as Sulphur Springs. "Our week usually begins by traveling from one location to another and setting up the rides and attractions on the grounds, the first part of the week," explained Josh Jones, a member of the crew. "Then, the weekends are filled with children having fun at the rides and attractions."

"Mondays and Tuesdays find our crews checking all of the rides for safety and putting the rides together on location," continued Jones. "We use the first few hours after we arrive to clean and repair equipment and to make certain that everything is working properly."

Workers with the Triple T Amusements wash the canvases and
clean all of their equipment, upon arrival in Sulphur Springs.

Rides will open at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday night, and will continue through Saturday night. "We don't have a definite time to end each night. It depends on the crowd," stated Jones. "We'll continue to run the rides as long as the crowd keeps coming and children are enjoying the attractions!"

Josh Jones, with Triple T Amusements, checks each of the rides to make certain that they are
working properly and all safety devices are in place, as the carnival gets ready to open on
Wednesday night.
"The carnival is an enjoyable part of Dairy Festival each year and provides fun for the children of the community," expressed Lonnie Fox, Dairy Festival Board member in charge. "We continue to try to provide this popular attraction for the children!"
