In celebration of a rich, rich heritage, the folks in Cumby came out to enjoy a downtown parade, Hopkins County Stew, and a variety of activities, as they celebrated Black Jack Grove Day, Saturday. Food tents, games, crafts, and competitions were scheduled throughout the day to commemorate the life in Cumby, which was first called Black Jack Grove. The event was organized by the Black Jack Grove Daughters, and is an annual event, the first Saturday in May.
