It was "21 or Bust"
On Thursday Night

by: Bobby McDonald

It was a friendly game of Black Jack, at the Days Inn Motel, for those businesses who served as sponsors for this weeks PRCA Rodeo, on Thursday night. BBQ with all the trimmings began the night and then local business owners "got down to business" as they attempted to win a trip to the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.

This "professional dealer" prepares to give one of the local Black Jack players a "hit" in Thursday
night's friendly game, at Days Inn Motel.

Each player was given $10,000.00 worth of token chips and the action began......"may the best man or woman win!" Donna Battles served as the MC for the event and circulated among the tables reporting on the progress of the games.

Tom Miller, left, and Danny Lawrence, find their chips "falling" as they try to "out-smart" the
dealer!

Many found that they could lose $10,000 dollars, rather quickly. While others, who seemed to have Lady Luck on their team, began to accumulate a stack of chips. The two winners from each table advanced to the next table and the process continued as losers were eliminated and winners advanced to the championship  table.

Brad Willis, local cowboy, serves as the dealer at this table of local business owners, Thursday night.

When the "dust" settled, or the chips fell, David Byrnes of The Equine Company, located on Industrial Drive, walked away as the winner of the trip, and others dusted-off their pants and vowed to come back next year and give it another try!

Danny Lawrence lost-out and watched as others attempted to advance in the contest.

A very nice evening, with lots of laughs, and excitement was enjoyed by all!
