Junior Dairy Show

1. The show is open to bonafide 4-H and FFA members enrolled in public or private elementary or secondary schools.

2. There will be classes for Brown Swiss, Holstein, Jersey, and Other Breeds.

Both Grade and Registered animals may be shown.

***There must be a minimum of six animals to form a breed class. Breeds of less than six animals will be shown in the Other Breeds Class.

1. Heifers born after February 28, 2006.

2. Heifers born Dec. 1, 2004 - February 30, 2006.

3. Heifers born September 1, 2004 - November 30, 2005.

4. Heifers born June 1, 2004 - August 31. 2005.

5. Heifers born March 1, 2004 - May 31, 2005.

6. Heifers born Dec. 1, 2003 - February 28, 2005.

7. Heifers born September 1, 2003 - November 30, 2004.

8. Heifers (not in milk) born June 1, 2003 - August 31, 2004.

9. Heifers (not in milk) born December 1, 2002 - May 31, 2004.

10. Junior Champion (From above classes) - Reserve Junior Champion

11. Two Year Old Cows born Sept. 1 - November 30, 2003 (including younger animals that have freshened.)

12. Three Year Old Cows born Sept. 1, 2002 - August 31, 2003.

13. Four Year Old Cows born Sept 1, 2001 - August 31, 2002.

14. Aged Cows born before Sept. 1, 2001.

15. Senior Champion Female - Reserve Senior Champion Female (From Cow Classes)

16. Grand Champion Female - Reserve Grand Champion Female.

3. Showmanship - A showmanship class will follow each breed show. There will be a Junior and Senior Showmanship award given in each breed.

4. Premiums: Determined by number of entries.

Supplemental Premiums will be sponsored by:

Southwest Dairy Farmers
Grand Champion receives and award + money.
Junior Champion receives and award + money.
Senior Champion receives and award + money.

5. Entry Fees are $10.00 per animal, postmarked by June 10, 2005. Entries postmarked after June 10th or entered at the show will be charged $15.00.

6. The show will be held at the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center at 1200 Houston Street, in Sulphur Springs.

7.Premium money will be distributed the day of the show and must be picked-up then. No premium money will be mailed.

8. All livestock that are found to be infected with or exposed to any contagious or communicable disease, including scabies, mange, or fever ticks shall be removed from the premises at once, segregated from all other animals and quarantined. Said livestock shall be treated in accordance with the provisions of law and of the rules and regulations of the Texas Animal Health Commission.

9. Official Health Certificates covering all livestock shipments intended for exhibition purposes shall be presented to representatives of the Texas Animal Health Commission at the time such livestock arrive on the grounds, for approval.

10. All rules of the Texas Animal Health Commission, and Northeast Texas Livestock and Dairy Association shall apply.

11. The Northeast Texas Livestock and Dairy Association, judges, or show officials will in no case be liable for any damage, fire, theft, injury, or loss which may occur to any person or persons, property (personal or public) or livestock.

12. All animals must be in place by 8:30 a.m., June 17th. Show will begin at 10:00 a.m. Early arrival is permitted.

13. Straw may be used for bedding (no shavings allowed).

Entry fees are $10.00 per animal post marked on or before June 9, 2006. Entries post marked after June 10th or entered at the show will be $15.00 per animal.
