THE BOOK OF FRED
by
Ami Bardi

Follow Mary Fred a teenaged girl on an insightful journey when she is removed
from the family home and put into foster care. Mary Fred has been reared in a
strictly fundamentalist home environment without T.V., stylish clothes, and the
conveniences that most teens take for granted.

Once in foster care, the sixteen year old girl is introduced to a more worldly
existence by her foster mother, Alice Cullison, a divorced librarian, her own
teenage daughter, Heather, who has a pierced belly button and her hair dyed blue.
Throw into the mix Uncle Roy, Alice's eccentric and free-loading brother.

You will laugh at the way most of us value our modern world and see how easily
the influences of worldliness creep into our lives, by association. Then, you
will rejoice in the mature decisions that Mary Fred is able to embrace when she
picks and chooses those things that are important.

This account gives you a "peek" into the world of fundamentalist cults and the
powers that they have over their individual members. A story that will be
remembered for a long, long time.
